Open studio at Camden Arts Centre
Being the Youth resident at Camden Arts Centre during the months of August and September 2019, I developed a series of site-responsive experiments; the singular objectsand tests were exhibited as one breathing body of work. Pulling form and function away fromthe static components found within the drawing studio, the features of the Victorian building and its wooden roof, the cracks of terrazzo floor which are walked over without recognition or consideration, Hindering’s 2019, brought into focus these forgotten peripheries and overlooked elements of the buildings architecture.
Inclusion of an hourglass shape which referenced to the shape of a drying rack, the unfeeling of alginate buried and pulled out from the floor cracks and other temporal happenings in thegallery and workshop spaces fed into the installation.
Hindering’s was open to the public as an open studio event on Saturday 14th September 2019.
